Default Trying to figure out the internet

Alright so, my Internet service has been more than crappy lately. Started with just Guild wars, expanded into bad morning connections to simple websites. ISP won't do shit, etc etc.

So I just want to ask a question. I came upon a internet traffic website, and I wonder if this means anything. I live very close to Atlanta georgia, and http://www.internettrafficreport.com/namerica.htm shows that Atlanta GA has a 100% packet loss....

Does this mean anything or is this a random server that was picked. How do you read this data and analyze/absorb it?

I don't think that the entire state of Georgia has 100% packet loss (i.e. no internet connection whatsoever).

All that tells me is that Internet Traffic Report (whoever they are) can't connect to atl-datacenter-gw2.capitalinternet.com - which translates as 208.32.175.6, which I can't connect to from England either.

It's a random server that was picked. Or something.

If your provider is not helping you out with this problem, then perhaps you should look for another ISP.

Why, is Comcast that bad? Only wondering since I'm soon to be moving to an area that only has Comcast.

My friend in the same area has it, and he gets like 15 ms ping constantly.

I get spikes of 10k ping and my online games are unplayable with a local internet company called Nulink Digital.

I see nothing wrong with comcast.

Comcast serves me pretty well in the Memphis, TN region. 12-16Mbps download and about 1.5-2Mbps upload speeds. Not sure how many neighbors are subscribed to this blocks network service though. I know most of my neighbors have something like DSL, but it is slower with synchronous transmission though. That means they have a dedicated connection rate to their house, but I have a connection shared with (possibly) multiple neighbors. Comcast is not that expensive though, lol.

As stated before though, if you had 100% packet loss, then you would not get any connection to lag on at all, lol.
